When I tell people I am an Internet Marketer, they are usually like “huh?” Actually, just a nod of the head is what I get most times and a short silence. Most folks normally don’t have a clue what Internet Marketing is. So, I’m here to tell anyone who will listen what it is because I think it’s the best thing since sliced bread.
After you discover how many different ways you can make money using the internet, you will ask “why not” Internet Marketing, and then you’ll wonder how you never knew about this whole other trading universe.
You’d be surprised what people buy and sell online. You can find anything under the sun on the internet. Anything from diamond rings to people offering to tattoo your advertisement on their body.
People buy and sell rarities such as handmade goods and antiques, as well as industrial equipment, real estate, books, vehicles, services, etc. You name it…if you can buy it offline, you can buy it online.
There are websites on every topic in the world and then some, and now that there are plenty of good solid blogging platforms that allow anyone to easily throw up a site, the possibilities are endless.
Ok….so, what is Internet Marketing? Internet Marketing is the act of advertising a product or service online. It doesn’t even have to be your own product or service.
An Internet Marketer picks a niche (topic) and targets the audience of that niche in some way as to lead them to take a particular action. Whether it be to simply get them to click on a link or click on a link and make a purchase, that action is what pays out.
That’s it. Pretty simple.
Get your reader to take your desired action and you get paid.
Here is an example of one marketing method where you don’t need your own product or service:
Say you are really into chicken care…I know, weird example, but follow me….you set up a blog (totally easy to do..I will show you how), write a couple posts explaining why you feel every chicken should have equal access to nice facilities, and drop a link to this page.
Sally Smith who has a bunch of chickens running loose in her backyard and needs an affordable coop does a Google search and lands on your blog, clicks through the link (which will have your referral ID on it), likes what she sees, makes a purchase, and you get paid a percentage of that sale.
There’s obviously a bit more too it than that, but you get the picture. There are products for any hobby or interest you can think up, and I will show you where to gain access to these products and services and then how to market them.
I will also show you how to make money online without promoting anything at all!
